Kaspersky Lab’s consumer and corporate solutions have once again earned the highest scores in the latest round of AV-Test.org regular evaluation of security suites
Kaspersky Lab’s consumer and corporate solutions have once again earned the highest scores in the latest round of AV-Test.org regular evaluation of security suites. In independent lab tests during July-August 2012, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 managed perfect scores for both malware detection and removal on consumer products. In a separate study, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows took first place among eight corporate security suites. That’s the sixth time in the last 14 months that Kaspersky Lab has led the way in the corporate test.
Both the consumer and corporate security suites were tested on machines running Windows XP with Service Pack 3 installed. The consumer tests evaluated two product versions: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 in July and the new, upgraded 2013 edition in August. The results in three tests for detection of malware were outstanding for both versions, with the “real-world” detection rate topping 98% while the product achieved a perfect 100% in tests to detect widespread malware.
In the remediation test Kaspersky Lab’s consumer product achieved another perfect 100% score, successfully detecting and removing every active component of all 41 malware infections. The overall tally of 17 points (out of a possible 18) put Kaspersky Internet Security in first place.
Kaspersky Lab’s corporate security solution delivered solid results in its detection test as well, posting a detection rate of more than 97% in the “real-world” evaluation and a flawless 100% performance when detecting widespread malware. Like its consumer counterpart, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows also got a perfect result in the remediation test, making it the only solution to score 100% for both detection and removal of malware. Its overall score of 16 out of 18 placed it one point higher than the nearest rival thanks to the quality of its anti-malware capabilities.
“This is an important period for us as we are rolling out the latest version of our flagship consumer solution – Kaspersky Internet Security 2013. We are glad that our new product has followed up its impressive results in a separate evaluation in June and July with another good show in the regular August test. The AV-Test.org evaluation once again confirms that we provide industry-leading security solutions for both consumers and businesses. But we are also looking forward to new trials that can test the abilities of the new protection techniques we’ve introduced to Kaspersky Internet Security – such as Automatic Exploit Prevention and Safe Money,” commented Oleg Ishanov, Director of Anti-Malware Research, Kaspersky Lab.
